SMOOTH OUT METHOD featuring the Tangle Fix Brush by Goody's
Use the Tangle Fix Brush to smooth the hair out. The Curl Definer works in a very unique way. When the hair shaft is moisturized with the Curl Definer then rubbed or dragged against a smooth surface such as your fingers, palms, (or the rounded corner of the tangle fix brush) with firm pressure the hair becomes smoother. It works particularly well when it is passed through the middle of two surfaces pressed tightly together. Since your body temperature is much higher than room temperature when the hair is passed between the middle of the fingers warmth is created and it instantly smooths the hair texture out.
Think of what happens when your hair is passed between the middle of a flat iron. (Do NOT use flat iron this is a hypothetical demonstration a what is scenario) The Flat Iron has two surfaces pressed together that both give off heat. Much higher than your body temperature of course which is 98.6 degrees. The teeth of the Tangle Fix Brush works well to grip the hair, hold it taut and detangle it. When flat ironing highly textured hair it is useful to have a gadget that does all of the above so the flat iron can glide down the hair shaft for a smooth press. One gadget that comes to mind is a chase comb.
To do our Smooth Out Method You will be using the Tangle Fix Brush as you chase comb and the warmth and grip between your fingers as a flat iron. (pointer and middle finger)
The hair is pictured above without the curl definer in it. The hair is pictured below with the curl definer in it. So you can see the difference between the hair with and without the product.
Picture 1. Smooth the product into the hair with warmth of hands this will moisturize and soften the hair
Picture 2. From the root use the Tangle fix Brush to grip the hair, and hold the hair taut. Open fingers like the thongs of a flat iron and grip the hair.
Picture 3. Glide the brush, followed by tightly Gripped fingers, all the way down the hair shaft to the tips. (pull down to straighten)
To ensure the hair is SMOOTHED OUT use your flat iron fingers over and over, hand over hand, until you are satisfied with the smoothness of the hair. Hair will look straight.
Now that the hair pattern is extremely elongated. Finally scrunch the hair so it can snap back into curls. Like a spring. Your shrinkage will be turned into curls.
When the hair is COMPLETELY DRY. Add the Hydrating Glosser. This will add volume, make hair soft and touchable (and get rid of sticky feeling if any)
"Flat Iron Fingers" Whats The big Idea?
Flat Iron Vs Fingers or Fist
Sandwich the hair between your two fingers (pointer and middle finger) like it were a flat iron. Grip it tightly and pull down. The same way you would with a flat iron. Use the tangle fix brush as a chase comb to detangle the hair and hold it taut. You can also use a tight gripped fist for longer hair.
When smoothing hair out. You can also use your Fists or Thumb and pointer fingers mashed together.
